Meet Emil, Mikkel, and Nicolaj, the founders of meoo, and the very first startup in our hub - in fact, they were here before the ITU NextGen team even existed!

Meoo started as a research project during a course that Mikkel and Nicolaj took as part of their bachelor's in Digital Design here at the IT University of Copenhagen. They explored what it’s like to be the parent of a child going through a diagnostic process. What they found was a chaotic, frustrating journey, full of doctors, specialists and confusing municipal systems.They decided to focus their bachelor thesis on this problem and built the foundation for meoo - a tool designed to help structure, navigate, and understand the overwhelming experience of dealing with illness or diagnosis in the public system. Afterwards, Emil, Mikkel, and Nicolaj did the master's in Software Design while developing meoo alongside their degrees. They graduated this winter and are now working full-time on their startup, while receiving one year of soft funding through Innofounder.

Meoo recently received DKK 50,000 through the Micro Grant (Mikrolegatet), which they will use to strengthen their platform’s technical core: “A big part of our platform is built around various agent systems. We want to run local speech-to-text models and language models on our own server, so all of the Micro Grant, plus the required co-financing from us as a company, will be used to buy a server”‍

Meoo’s tips for applying for the Micro Grant: “You have to validate your product or idea. Your product doesn't have to be finished, but you need to go out and talk to some users. Show in the application that someone actually finds your idea valuable.”
